HOW TO Stop Eating Boring Salads

I’ve always wondered at all the ladies, still in their gym clothes, who sit down day after day to a glob of tuna on a fistful of spinach.

Sometimes I just want to snatch them up by their Lululemon and ask them why they are torturing themselves.

Yes, you have to eat salad. Yes, preferably every day. No, you don’t have to hate every bite of it.

Salads can be the most glorious food ever (next to cheescake, obviously). It’s a meal as limitless as your imagination that takes minutes to make. And it can be different EVERY SINGLE DAY.

Today, I had avocado and green plums. Yesterday, it was donut peaches and walnuts. Sometimes (gasp) I don’t even put any greens in it!

Sometimes I put in jalapeños and salmon, sunflower seeds and apple, pomegranate and peppers, lentils and papaya.

It’s MY salad and I put whatever I want in it. Take back your salads, people!

    I love salmon in salad. Tuna too, sorry to say. One of the easiest and most delicious “saldads” I’ve discovered is half an avocado with some vinaigrette. Boring-sounding, yet delicious. Here’s a trick I’ve used – pouring those last little bits from the trail mix bag into my salad. That way you aren’t stuck with those bits on your fingers, trying to fish them out of the bag. Just pour onto your salad and “voila.”
