I’m currently a graduate student in Kinesiology.  While studying both physiology and nutrition, I’ve learned a lot about how the human body works. The basics:

1. Your body is made to eat whole foods.

2. Your body is made to get daily exercise.

3. Without whole foods and daily exercise your body stops working well.

Although these facts are simple, putting them into practice is anything but. I believe that health is highly personal. Each person chooses unhealthy behaviors for a reason and, likewise, they will have their own reasons for making a change. I hope to help as many people as possible find their reason to change.

I like your site. It actually has accurate info that ‘s researched. I just got back from the IDEA Fitness convention, where Len Kravitz talked about the research about sitting. I’m glad you are following me on Twitter, as now I’ve found you. I will happily recommend your site to my followers/readers, etc. There is so much bad info out there (I teach upcoming group fitness and personal trainers at UCSB and have written/presented on fitness for over 25 years) that I am so happy to see a researched site. Keep at it!

    Thanks so much, Alexandra!

I think there’s a very delicate balance between presenting findings and conclusions. It’s easy to look at a study and say that it shows that if you sit all day, you’ll get heart disease.

In reality, every person is different; every study is a pixel in the big picture 🙂

I do want to encourage people to eat well and exercise but hopefully not by resorting to infotainment. On the other hand, no one wants to read that blueberries reduce cancer risk by 0.000001% so… back to striking that balance.

    Thanks again for your comment,
